First stop, Tanzania!

Hujambo to my fellow fashionistas! As I mentioned in my intro, this blog is meant to focus on a different city in every post, but today is a bit different. This post is focusing more on a group of people, The Massai of Tanzania, whose tribe specific garb bares such a likeness to all of the on-trend tribal prints, accessories, and styles that are being seen everywhere right now! As we venture across the Tanzanian deserts, it's impossible not to notice the intricately detailed jewelry and attire of these unintentionally fashionable people. Like, hello, where can I get some of this stuff?

(Sigh). Although most of this authentic apparel is probably not going to seen in my closet any time in the near future, I will do my best to channel the tough yet beautiful essence of the Massai that I find so attractive.

Although I wouldn't recommend wearing the following ensemble to traipse through the Serengeti, I selected a few key pieces that I have been coveting recently to capture a bit of the essence that so stills my heart about Tanzania.
First and foremost, a necklace of the moment designed by the design duo of the moment. Dannijo Ekat Necklace, $420

Don't these Eddie Borgo spike earrings just scream "Tanzania"?!

Pair that beauty with this strapless chemise for $78 from Anthropologie, blue as the cloudless sky hovering over the plains.

Channel your inner Massai warrior in these sandals from BCBG Max Azria, on sale right now for $117.

Finish off your tribal ensemble with this Ikat Beaded Clutch by Moyna for $155 and spruce up your look with this Brass Arch Cuff from Pamela Love, retailing for $633. (Okay, not such a steal, but it's all about getting the idea and then finding a way to make it your own-- take a look at Forever 21 and H&M for more affordable ways to try this look out!)

Alright everyone, I hope you've been intrigued, inspired, and have enjoyed reading this first post as much as I enjoyed writing it! Until next time, as our Tanzanian friends would say, kwaheri!
